Did it ever come to your mind that at times you might be eating out of fear rather than because of an actual hunger? Some people might be convinced that unless they eat some minimal amount of food, or at some minimal frequency, or eat something warm/cooked/liquid etc, something bad might happen to their body. Other times, we eat “just in case” because of unforeseen future. Why do you think most religions impose compulsory fasting in one or another way? Have you heard about intermittent food deprivation improving our life expectancy? Do you think we can bring this concept every once in a while to our attention and be more aware of our eating/overeating motivations?
