The sure way to a sustained weight loss – is a sustained change of someone’s life situation, or, someone’s perception of the life situation. The reality is that each of us lives in our own reflection of the outside world. Where to start? The first step is to convince yourself that the change is possible. How do you convince yourself – pretty much as you would convince the others. Past experiences – note your personal experiences that support the notion. Rationalize or disregard and forget your past failures. Look at others life changing experiences and successes – there is no reason you could be one of them. And, finally, by authority. If someone’s very respected and trusted would look into your eyes and say – “ I can read you, you are capable of doing this, I can see you doing this and succeeding, you are one of the chosen ones to have it done”. For me personally – it was a success of a close friend of mine who did what I thought was impossible – from 270 pounds he went all the way to 160s, he is just like me – 6 feet tall and middle aged with the same education and job. If he did it – why can’t I? Find your own way to convince yourself. You can do it.
